James M. Campbell and Connie Lewis Lensing Appointed to Lead the Corporate Counsel College in 2015 and 2016

The IADC is pleased to announce that James M. Campbell and Connie Lewis Lensing have been appointed as Dean for the Corporate Counsel College in 2015 and 2016, respectively. 

          

James M. Campbell is the president of Campbell Campbell Edwards & Conroy Professional Corporation. Mr. Campbell focuses his practice on civil litigation and the defense of catastrophic product liability, toxic tort, medical device, pharmaceutical, professional liability, and negligence matters throughout the United States. He serves as national, regional, and local trial counsel for a variety of major national and international corporations and insurers. Mr. Campbell is responsible for supervising and coordinating litigation for the firm throughout the country. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Attorneys, a Diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Mr. Campbell is a Past President of the International Association of Defense Counsel and served on IADC's Board of Directors. He served as the Director of the 2005 IADC Trial Academy and as a Faculty member in 1997. Mr. Campbell serves as Vice Chair, Jury Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has served on ABOTA's National Board of Directors and is a Past President of the Massachusetts Chapter. Mr. Campbell also was on the Board of Directors of the Defense Research Institute. He is a Past President of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association and is also a member of the Product Liability Advisory Council, Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, and the Association of Defense Trial Lawyers. Mr. Campbell earned his law degree from the University of Virginia and bachelors degree, magna cum laude, from Boston College. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Maine, Florida, and New Hampshire, the federal district courts of those states and those in Connecticut, Vermont, the First and Eleventh Circuits and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Campbell will be the 2015 Dean of the Corporate Counsel College, which will be held in Chicago, Illinois at The Ritz-Carlton on April 16 and 17.

Connie Lewis Lensing is Senior Vice President in the Legal Department at FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation company. She heads a department with offices in Memphis, Tennessee and Orange County, California. She is admitted to the bars of several Federal Circuits, the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as those of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas. She argued before the U.S. Supreme Court during the October 2007 term. She currently sits on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Legal Reform and is a Board Member of Lawyers for Civil Justice and the National Civil Rights Museum. She is on the Board of Trustees for the Campbell Foundation which is devoted to community healthcare, orthopedic research, and education. She was named to the 2013 Super Women in Business. She is a past Board Member and Vice President of Corporate of the International Association of Defense Counsel, and she is past Vice President and Board Member of International Association of Women in Aviation. She has been a recipient of the Minority Counsel Association’s Employee of Choice Award and is a four time recipient of FedEx’s most prestigious award, the Five Star. She has sat on the FedEx Officers’ Diversity Board, has been elected to membership as President Elect of the American Inn of Court, is a fellow of the Memphis and Tennessee Bar Foundations, and is a past Board Member of the Memphis Bar Foundation. She co-chaired the National Civil Rights Museum’s Twentieth Anniversary Freedom Awards.

Ms. Lewis Lensing will be the 2016 Dean of the Corporate Counsel College which will be in April 2016 in Chicago, Illinois.
