Thomas M. Hinchey

Biography

Tom Hinchey's practice concentrates in complex civil litigation, both locally and throughout the United States. He routinely handles a wide array of products liability, negligence and warranty actions for the transportation industry, automotive manufacturers, industrial equipment manufacturers, public utilities and insurance companies. Tom handles all aspects of litigation, from pleadings through trial. He has been lead trial counsel in products liability and negligence trials in both State and Federal Court. Tom serves as national counsel for a major automotive manufacturer for rollover cases and has been lead counsel in rollover cases in various jurisdictions. Tom has also argued in both State and Federal appellate courts.

As a result of his extensive trial experience, Tom has been asked to instruct on the issue of trial advocacy and has also lectured on trial practice. Despite this wealth of trial experience however, Tom also knows firsthand what it is like to be on the wrong side of a punitive damages claim in a suit against a major manufacturer. Having survived same, Tom is more than happy to discuss details with any interested party.

Also, while attending school abroad, Tom developed an interest in international law and has applied to take the Qualified Lawyer Transfer Test which, if he passes, will allow him to practice in England and Wales: We will keep you posted on this issue.

Tom is married with two beautiful daughters, who, despite their father's lack of any significant athletic ability, are quite the basketball players. Tom spends a fair amount of his free time driving to AAU basketball tournaments (and loves every minute of it.)
