Edward Judge v. Pyramid Gun Mall
Plaintiff, Edward Judge, was using a Walther LG300 Dominator .177 Caliber Rifle on September 8, 2007 for target practice when the bolt retaining pin snapped. The bolt blew out with a blast of approximately 1,500 pounds per square inch of air pressure passing through and into Mr. Judge’s right ear, causing a total loss of hearing in that ear. The plaintiff issued 93A demand letters to Pyramyd, Umarex USA, Walther USA and Carl Walther. A Complaint was filed in Hampshire Superior Court in September 2010. Prior to Umarex USA filing a formal response to the plaintiff’s Complaint. The plaintiff agreed to voluntarily dismiss Umarex USA because it did not manufacture or distribute the subject rifle. Umarex was dismissed from the case in October 2010.
