Michelle Schaffer nominated to become a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation
August 2012

We are pleased to announce that Michelle Schaffer has been nominated to become a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.  Membership in the Fellows is a great honor limited to one third of one percent of the lawyers in America.

The American Bar Foundation (ABF) was founded in 1952 by the ABA and is now recognized as the premier institute in the United States for social science research on law.  Among its research faculty are such notables as James Heckman, 2000 Nobel Prize winner in Economic Sciences, John Hagan, who was awarded the 2009 Stockholm Prize in Criminology for his pathbreaking research on genocide in the Balkans and Darfur, Shari Diamond, whose current study of civil juries may very well revise the jury deliberation process, and Steven Levitt, whose bestseller, SuperFreakonomics, reports on a broad range of innovative research that was supported by the ABF.

We congratulate Michelle on her nomination wish her the best as she fulfills this important role.
