Blumer v. Ford Motor Company
A tow truck operator, driving a 2002 Ford F350 tow truck, answered a call to tow a Ranger from a parking lot to the owner's home. When the truck was unable to tow the Ranger up a steep ramp, the owner of the Ranger backed it off the truck and down the ramp. The F350 then rolled rearward and collided with the Ranger. The truck operator was found dead under the truck. Plaintiff claimed that the parking brake system on the F350 was defectively designed and that the defendants failed to warn users of the defects.
